Worcester Teen Charged After Police Seize Loaded Firearm with Glock Switch

WORCESTER, MA — A 15-year-old boy is facing multiple firearm charges after Worcester police say he was caught carrying a loaded weapon during an overnight incident early Monday.

According to police, the situation began around 3:30 a.m. when Massachusetts State Police reported four males running from officers toward Millbury Street. One of the individuals appeared to have a firearm hidden under his shirt.

Worcester officers later located the group walking near Winter Street in front of the Worcester Ice Center. When officers approached, one teen—carrying a large object concealed under his shirt—attempted to flee. After being detained and handcuffed, the teen told officers he was 15 years old and admitted he had a loaded firearm.

The Worcester Police Crime Scene Unit recovered the weapon, which was loaded with 18 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber. Police say the gun was also fitted with a Glock switch, a device that can convert a firearm into a fully automatic weapon.

The teenager now faces a slate of serious charges, including:

  • Carrying a Firearm Without a License

  • Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card

  • Defaced Firearm Serial Number

  • Possession of a Loaded Machine Gun

  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License

  • Possession of a Large-Capacity Feeding Device

Police have not released the teen’s name due to his age.
