WORCESTER — Worcester residents will have an extra week to cool off at Crompton Park Pool after the city extended its summer operating season through Aug. 29.
The pool had originally been scheduled to close Saturday, Aug. 22. The Worcester Parks, Recreation & Cemetery Department announced Tuesday that it will instead remain open for another week as summer winds down.
The extension applies only to Crompton Park Pool. The city’s beaches are still scheduled to close Aug. 22.
Worcester recreation schedule
Residents looking to make the most of the final weeks of summer can find the following schedule:
- Crompton Park Pool: Open through Aug. 29.
- Worcester beaches: Scheduled to close Aug. 22.
- Spray parks: East Park, Greenwood Park, University Park and Tacoma Street Playground are scheduled to remain open through Labor Day, Sept. 7.
The extended pool season gives residents another option for swimming as Worcester’s seasonal recreation schedule begins winding down.
City officials reminded residents to swim only at locations where lifeguards are on duty and to use caution around waterfront areas.
