Southborough’s Neary School Launches Free After-School “Game Lab” for 4th and 5th Graders

SOUTHBOROUGH, MA. — This fall, Southborough Youth & Family Services is inviting a select group of 4th and 5th grade students from Neary School to join a free, weekly after-school program designed to combine fun with friendship-building. Dubbed “The Game Lab,” the initiative is described as “a game-based friendship-building group.”

On Thursday afternoons, participants will engage in cooperative games that encourage teamwork, communication, and problem-solving—all while fostering confidence and lasting connections. The program runs from 3:00 to 4:15 p.m. at Neary School, and parents or caregivers are asked to pick up children promptly at 4:15, unless they are enrolled in the Southborough Extended Day Program.

Scheduled to kick off on October 9 and continue through December 11, The Game Lab will not meet on Thanksgiving Day, November 27. Through playful competition and collaborative challenges, the program aims to help kids build friendships and develop essential social skills in a supportive environment.
