WORCESTER, Mass. — A local lottery player is holding a major payout after purchasing a winning scratch-off ticket at a Worcester convenience store earlier this week.
The Massachusetts State Lottery confirmed that a $50,000 winning ticket was sold Tuesday at the 7-Eleven located in Worcester. The lucky ticket was from the state’s popular “Power Play™ Cashword” instant scratch game.
To win top prizes in the crossword-style game, players must scratch off letters to reveal complete words within the puzzle grid. Payouts increase based on the total number of valid words uncovered, with multiplier features providing opportunities to boost overall prize amounts up to ten times the base value.
State lottery officials have not publicly identified the prize winner.
